AEW Dynamite recap for October 16, 2019: Rise of the Painmaker

Express Train to Pain
Next up was the last first-round tag tournament match, featuring the team of Jurassic Express versus The Lucha Bros.
Jurassic Express were putting in the B-team here in Jungle Boy and Marko Stunt as Luchasaurus wasn’t able to compete due to a hamstring injury.
Stunt and Pentagon start off the match with Pentagon taunting the shorter Stunt. Jungle and Fenix both came in quickly as Pentagon threw Stunt but got caught in a spike DDT. Jungle was right behind his partner as he hit a spike DDT as well. Express went to the outside as Stunt hit a suicide dive and Jungle hit an Asai moonsault. Stunt tagged in Jungle and hit his version of the 619 (the 215). Fenix ran in and ran the ropes on Stunt. Pentagon then looked to finish the match with a massive pumphandle driver but Stunt kicked out, much to Pentagon’s dismay and shock.
Stunt got worked over for a long period but was finally able to tag in Jungle Boy. Jungle looked to be in control of the match and set up Stunt for a 450 and a running Shooting Star Press, but Jungle was then taken out by Pentagon as The Lucha Bros zeroed in on Stunt, snapped his arm and hit their foot stomp piledriver finisher for the win.
What a match! Fans seemed to start off hostile due to Luchasaurus not being in the contest but Stunt was able to show off why he belonged in this match and in AEW. The fact that this wasn’t a squash match should give fans faith in how fair AEW looks to be booking their matches in the future.
