DFS Advice – Wide Receivers to Start

Tyreek Hill (KC) @ DEN

Hill had quite a coming-out party this past Sunday against the Houston Texans, after missing four games with a shoulder injury. In Week 6 against Houston, Hill was targeted 10 times and converted five of them into 80 yards and a pair of touchdowns. The Chiefs showed no hesitations with getting their top target involved in the passing game after missing a month of action. Hill also appeared to not have missed a beat and looks to build on top of it with a Thursday night showdown versus the Broncos at Mile High.

Calvin Ridley (ATL) vs. LAR

While Ridley has been relatively quiet for a majority of the regular season this year, he’s got a great opportunity to have a big day in Week 7 against the Rams. Los Angeles just updated their secondary by adding Jalen Ramsey from Jacksonville but traded away Marcus Peters to Baltimore on the same day. While Ramsey is an elite talent, he will need to get acclimated to his new team. While the Rams’ weaknesses lie more within their front seven, the loss of Peters will certainly have some form of a negative impact. As a result, Ridley should benefit as well as the rest of the Falcons’ receiving corps. This week could be the game where he finally breaks out in a major way for fantasy managers.

Robert Woods (LAR) @ ATL

It’s been a tough go for Robert Woods during the first month and a half of the 2019 regular season. Last week against the 49ers, Woods caught zero passes as Cooper Kupp continued to garner the majority of the attention in the passing attack. Luckily, Woods managed to score a rushing touchdown to give him some sort of fantasy value this past week. The Falcons’ have a fairly generous secondary allowing the fourth-most receiving yards to pass catchers this year. On top of that, Atlanta’s corner Desmond Trufant is dealing with a toe injury leaving his status for Week 7 up in the air. Woods is still getting targeted on average 8.5 times per game which is a good sign at least. It’s looking very promising that Woods could bounce back in a big way heading into this week’s slate of games.
