DraftKings Showdown: Flex

Patrick Mahomes – $12,000

Do I even need to type anything here? He must be owned with all Chiefs pass-catchers that you have in as your Captain and should be heavily featured in your flex as well.

Travis Kelce – $9,800

While many are disappointed with Travis Kelce’s fantasy season, he currently leads the Chiefs in all major categories outside of touchdowns. The touchdown regression monster is coming in a good way for Kelce, as he currently only has one on the season. He is a focal point of this offense and with this Broncos defense shutting down receivers so well, I look for Andy Reid to attack the middle of the field with his fantastic tight end. If you’re mass multi-entering, it is a must to include Kelce in at Captain.

Joe Flacco – $8,000

The Kansas City Chiefs allow the 7th most points to quarterbacks this season at 20.9 per-game. While I am not the biggest fan of Joe Flacco, the situation and game script fit this Broncos offense as the Chiefs have struggled getting off the field. The Chiefs are likely without their best defensive linemen, as Chris Jones is likely out making the Broncos offense more in play than I originally thought.

Demarcus Robinson – $6,800

With Watkins out, Demarcus Robinson should see the majority of snaps in this game along with Tyreek Hill. While I am not looking to attack this Broncos secondary with the Chiefs receivers, you must have allocation to Hill, Robinson, Hardman, and Pringle, as all can go off with the best quarterback in the league at the helm. I prefer the Chiefs pass-catchers in that order as well.

Damien Williams – $6,600

Like the Broncos, the Chiefs should be able to run the football against this Denver defense. The Broncos defense allows the 19th most yards on the ground at 111.8 yards per game. With Mahomes battling an injured ankle, I would look for Reid to establish the run more than they did against the Colts (14 carries) and Texans (11 carries).

Emmanuel Sanders – $6,400

After a hot start, Sanders has only seen four targets in his last two games. It seems a knee injury has been the cause of this production slip and with a couple of full practices this week we can assume he is healthy again. While I prefer Sutton and the running backs to Sanders, I will have him in some flex builds, as he was leading the team in targets through the first two weeks (20).

LeSean McCoy – $6,200

Another running back by committee that I would stay away from if it were not for the matchup. I would look for one of the best screen teams in the league to get both backs involved in the passing game to slow down Von Miller and the Broncos pass rush. It is anyones best guess at who will get the work this week as both have flip-flopped snap shares over the last two weeks, you should have some of both in your flex builds.

Mecole Hardman – $5,800

With Sammy Watkins out tomorrow, Mecole Hardman is likely to see an increased amount of playing time. Like Watkins, Hardman plays roughly 40% of snaps out of the slot and should take over those duties tomorrow night. The injury to Watkins hurts Pringle’s value on the slate as Robinson is going to play the majority of the snaps outside while Hardman soaks up his slot duties.
