Looking to build your fantasy football team for the future leading into the playoffs? You may want to add these quarterbacks with favorable schedules.

The waiver wire is usually used for finding the best pickups for that immediate week. There’s no thought about the future. But why not? Fantasy football is a 16-week marathon, not a one-week sprint. It’s important to focus long-term in some instances. So, this piece is going to focus on quarterbacks with favorable schedules after week 7.

The play-callers mentioned may not be the league-breaking type of players like a Christian McCaffrey or Patrick Mahomes. But, they can make the difference in your weekly matchups with the playoffs just around the corner, especially with some positions being weaker than others.

The players listed have good enough weapons around them to make them rosterable in most fantasy football leagues. You can use them as bye week replacements if your starter didn’t have theirs yet or if your star quarterback goes down with an injury like we’ve seen already this season.

More from Fantasy Football

Maybe you’ve been relying on Jared Goff or Baker Mayfield so far this season and need a boost. They haven’t been the most consistent quarterbacks this season.

These three quarterbacks have ownership percentages under 50 percent based on ESPN leagues as of this writing.

Sam Darnold

Darnold looked great in his first week back from mono. He threw for 338 yards, two touchdowns and an interception in a win against the Cowboys. While I wouldn’t start him against the Patriots, he’s worth picking up for the few games after this week.

Darnold and the Jets face the Jaguars (without Jalen Ramsey), Dolphins, Giants, Redskins, Raiders, Bengals and Dolphins again.

The offensive line still needs work but with consistency at quarterback, the rest of the players should step up.

Ryan Tannehill

I know he’s not going to see his ownership percentage skyrocket, but Tannehill could see some love in deeper leagues. He took over quarterback duties from Marcus Mariota in last week’s game. Tannehill threw for 144 yards and an interception. The good side is that he completed 81.3 percent of his passes.

After he and the Titans face the Chargers, they face the Buccaneers, Panthers and Chiefs before their bye week in week 11. Then, they face the Jags and Colts. I know I said I don’t like the Titans skill players but maybe the change at quarterback could spark something in this offense.

Jacoby Brissett

While you may need to wait a couple of extra weeks before you can use Brissett, the investment may be worth it. In the first four games of the season, Brissett averaged 19.03 fantasy points per game. He was then limited to just 10.9 points against the Chiefs.

He has a good rebound matchup against the Texans this week but faces two tough defenses in Denver and Pittsburgh. After that, though, things start to look up. Brissett and the Colts face the Dolphins, Jags, Texans, Titans and Bucs between weeks 10 and 14.

dark. Next. DFS advice: Week 7 fantasy football start or sit

These three quarterbacks are not going to score record-breaking numbers. But they have the ability to make plays and score enough fantasy points to keep your team afloat. They aren’t top-10 options but a great week could change that outlook. They have a better value in deep or 2QB leagues. Thanks for stopping by FanSided Fantasy!
