NBA Preseason DFS: Miami @ Orlando

Miami Heat

We have what looks like a good fantasy situation with Miami tonight, but Coach Spoelstra was pretty non-committal when pressed about how much he planned to play his core players tonight. The Miami starters (and Derrick Jones Jr.) all played 24-27 minutes on Monday, with Bam Adebayo, Tyler Herro, Meyers Leonard, and DJJ all having very productive outings. Tyler Herro is the real deal, nailing 5-three pointers and scoring 23 points in only 24 minutes.

The Heat are the only team on the slate that plays again tomorrow, so we very well could see this be their “dress rehearsal” game. I’m interested in all their main guys with the exception of Jimmy Butler who is pretty expensive and has been content to a facilitator and not a scorer in the preseason.

Orlando Magic

The Magic are playing their final game of the preseason. When they’ve rested some of their starters, they’ve been beaten badly by Boston and Philly, but it sounds like they intend to play star center Nikola Vucevic and sixth-man Terrance Ross “extensive minutes.” Any time you get decent minutes for Vuc, you have to consider him an elite play and he’s priced very fairly on both sites. Ross is a volume shooter who can rack up points with the second unit in a hurry and Jonathan Isaac interests me pretty much every night at his current price based on his fantasy skill-set.
