DFS Fantasy Hockey: Goalies to Start
John Gibson (ANA) vs. CAR
Gibson has been playing like one of the best goalies in the NHL during this brief stretch of games of the season. As of right now, Gibson has a 4-2-0 record with a 0.941 SV% and 1.85 GAA with the Anaheim Ducks.
He’s one of the biggest reasons why the Ducks have such a low goals against average for the season. With other big name goalies like Ben Bishop and Sergei Bobrovsky not playing up to expectations, Gibson is not a bad consolation option to go to at this time. Consider starting him during Friday night’s action against the Carolina Hurricanes.
Philipp Grubauer (COL) @ FLA
Despite having to play against one of the higher scoring offenses in the Eastern Conference, Grubauer still remains as a strong goaltending option for Friday. Since taking over the starting position for the Avalanche last season, Grubauer has been a solid rock between the pipes.
His great level of play from last season has now carried over to this year as he has a 0.922 SV% and a 2.57 GAA. Do not be frightened with how well the Panthers have played on offense this year. Grubauer is playing like an elite goalie and can match up well against pretty much any offense coming his way at this time.
Matt Murray (PIT) vs. DAL
The Dallas Stars have got some serious issues going on with their offense at the moment. They are struggling to find the back of the net even with some pretty big names on their roster. While Dallas may be a sleeping giant just ready to erupt at any moment, I think Matt Murray and the Penguins will be safe heading into Friday’s match-up.
Murray has been good for Pittsburgh going 4-2-0 with a 0.914 SV% and 2.66 GAA. If you are looking for some quality goaltending for Friday’s slate of games, why not rely on a two-time Stanley Cup Champion to get the job done?
