Daily Fantasy Basketball: Final Thoughts on Roster Construction

The biggest piece of advice that I can give anyone is to watch NBA basketball whenever you get the chance. While projections and statistics can be very helpful (and are very necessary to an extent), watching the games is going to give you an idea of each player’s skillset and abilities. If you can’t watch the games live, go on YouTube and watch some highlights of some of the young players who you are not as familiar with early in the season.

Find a site or tout that you trust (and I’d be flattered if I was that guy for you) and try not to overdo your analysis. In any DFS sport, there can be a point of “paralysis by analysis” when you have read too many articles or listened to too many podcasts and simply try to play every player on the slate and build 100 lineups without any real sense of direction.

At the end of the day, trust your own instincts and research and don’t use “player X” only because a certain site said to play them. The more you play NBA DFS, the easier it will get and you’ll often find that your own research will end up pointing you to the same plays that the content providers do. That’s a good feeling, and that is the type of confidence you want to have when clicking the final submit button on your lineups.
