Fantasy football rankings – Wide Receivers

In my analysis, I mentioned liking both of the receivers that wound up top two in week six. Although I didn’t have them quite that high, Stefon Diggs and Terry McLaurin were two of my favorite plays last week, and both came through with stellar performances. Tyreek Hill proved to be a top five play in his return from injury. Julian Edelman had a top 10 performance of his own, and D.J. Moore and Larry Fitzgerald both had solid days as well.

I nailed Hill at four, Edelman, Chris Godwin, and Mike Evans as top 10 plays, was within one spot on Kenny Golladay, and was within a handful on guys like Fitzgerald, Odell Beckham Jr., Tyler Lockett, and Mike Williams.

Amari Cooper went out early with an injury, Cooper Kupp and his fellow Rams were shut down by the Niners defense, and D.J. Chark was held in check by standout corner Marshon Lattimore.

Players like Jaron Brown and Allen Lazard caught touchdowns to vault them into the top 17 for the week, and Golden Tate and Robby Anderson had great games, both finishing in the top eight in ESPN PPR scoring among receivers.

I think the Rams get back on track in a big way this week against the Falcons, and I feel that Cooper Kupp will lead the charge as a pass catcher with a game similar to the ones he put up in weeks three through five. Woods and Cooks are great options too and may be better plays in GPP DFS tourneys, but Kupp should shine in week seven.

Julio Jones and Michael Thomas should be considered match up proof and are obvious must starts in season-long. T.Y. Hilton should have a breakout game against a struggling Texans secondary that is leading to shootout after shootout for Watson and the rest of the Houston team.

Amari Cooper has the potential to be the number one receiver this week if he is not hindered by his quad injury. It sounds like the plan is for him to play, but I’m tempering expectations just a bit just in case. But he and Michael Gallup are both great plays against a pitiful Eagles secondary.

Other receivers I like this week include D.J. Chark, Tyler Lockett, Golden Tate, Larry Fitzgerald, John Brown and Cole Beasley, Phillip Dorsett (if he plays and Josh Gordon doesn’t), Jamison Crowder, and Corey Davis.

Guys I may look to avoid include Alshon Jeffery, Stefon Diggs, Tyler Boyd, Allen Robinson, and Mike Williams.
