Fantasy football rankings – Tight Ends

Hunter Henry came back from injury with a vengeance, claiming the top spot for tight ends in week six. Two and three, Austin Hooper and George Kittle, I nailed in my rankings. I also accurately predicted Mark Andrews and Jared Cook as top 11 plays for the week. Not horrible for one the most unpredictable positions on a week to week basis.

In week six, Ricky Seals-Jones and Darren Fells made their way back into the top 10 while Cameron Brate, Maxx Williams, and Ryan Griffin all found the end zone to finish top 10 as well. Off games from Travis Kelce, Zach Ertz, Jimmy Graham, and Gerald Everett hurt my rankings a bit.

The injury to Will Dissly was catastrophic for me in my season-long leagues, as I had just traded for him in two leagues and already had him in another. Another solid week to week starter down, leaving the list of reliable fantasy tight ends very, very slim.

Welcome back Evan Engram! In his first game back from injury he gets the defense that allows the most fantasy points to opposing tight ends! Assuming he is close to 100% he is a must start and the clear number one option at tight end for me this week.

Austin Hooper has been a steady high-end tight end all year and a shootout with the Rams certainly won’t hurt. Mark Andrews has also been very good all year, has a good match up against the Seahawks, and doesn’t even have an injury designation this week. Ertz, Kittle, and Henry round out the “sure things” at tight end.

I love Chris Herndon in fantasy from here on out in the Jets offense. If he’s still available, go get him. This ranking is assuming he plays this week, but even if he doesn’t, the Jets offense should light up some weak competition over the remainder of the season.

Some streaming options at tight end include Jason Witten, Darren Fells, Dawson Knox, Josh Hill, and Luke Willson. I may steer clear of guys such as Delanie Walker, Trey Burton, and Kyle Rudolph this week.
