NFL DFS bargain bin: Week 7 Quarterbacks

Jacoby Brissett, IND vs. HOU:

(DraftKings-$5,600/FanDuel-$7,300/FantasyDraft-$11,100/Yahoo-$28)

Brissett has surprised many who thought the Colts’ season would derail following the sudden retirement of Andrew Luck, and he’s been rewarding on the fantasy front on more than one occasion as well. Brissett boasts a sparkling 10:3 TD:INT and gets a crack at a Texans team that’s given up plenty of yards through the air and could therefore facilitate one of his stronger games at very reasonable prices.

Houston has allowed an 11:3 TD:INT to quarterbacks, along with averages of 22.9 DK/FantasyDraft and 20.3 FanDuel/Yahoo points per game to the position. The Texans are also yielding an elevated 68.0 percent completion rate, the sixth-most air yards (1,977) and fifth-most receiving yards (1,736), which should open the door for Brissett to hit some downfield shots with the likes of T.Y. Hilton. Brissett has notably thrown for 310 and 265 yards in his two home games (his two best totals of the season), respectively, furthering his Week 7 case.

Ryan Tannehill, TEN vs. LAC:

(DraftKings-$4,800/FanDuel-$6,400/FantasyDraft-$10,000/Yahoo-$22)

Tannehill has “won” the starting job in Tennessee for the time being, and even though that came about due to Marcus Mariota‘s poor play, the former Dolphins signal-caller is no run-of-the-mill backup quarterback. For all the maligning he’s been subject to, Tannehill did put together a pair of 4,000-yard seasons during his time with the Dolphins and is priced extremely affordably across all four sites.

The Chargers have allowed 10 passing touchdowns to quarterbacks and an NFL-high 73.5 percent completion percentage as well. Granted, Los Angeles has ensured the majority of those passes have been in the short-to-medium passing window, as they’re also yielding the fourth-lowest aDOT (7.1). However, Tannehill should have an opportunity to get into a rhythm here with short-area possession option Adam Humphries in particular, possibly setting up some downfield shots to speedsters like A.J. Brown and Corey Davis. While there’s not a ton of upside, his price, especially on DK, can’t be beat for a serviceable starting quarterback.
