NFL DFS bargain bin: Week 7 Wide Receivers

John Brown, BUF vs. MIA:

(DraftKings-$5,500/FanDuel-$5,900/FantasyDraft-$10,400/Yahoo-$20)

The Dolphins’ defense has been a doormat for much of the season, and even with capable veteran Reshad Jones now healthy on the back end, Miami can still be had downfield. The Dolphins are allowing 36.2 DK/FantasyDraft and 30.0 FanDuel/Yahoo points per game to wide receivers, and they’re tied with several other teams for third-most touchdowns allowed through the air to the position (eight). Miami is also surrendering plenty of those completions downfield, as they’re tied for fourth-highest aDOT (9.3) surrendered while also facilitating an elevated 70.0 percent catch rate.

The latter two numbers dovetail very nicely with Brown’s skill set, considering his blazing speed and the fact he already owns five receptions of 20 or yards this season. What’s more, Brown will be rested while coming off a bye week and boasts an impressive aDOT of 13.4 and catch rate of 71.8 percent. He’s logged between eight and 11 targets in three of his first five games with Josh Allen at the helm, and he’s likely due for a touchdown or two after not having scored since the opener .

Brandin Cooks, LAR at ATL:

(DraftKings-$5,400/FanDuel-$6,700/FantasyDraft-$11,300/Yahoo-$20)

Cooks is a classic case of a talented player that can be had at both lower price and ownership this week thanks to a multi-week slump that he could well be set to snap in an attractive matchup. Cooks has just four receptions for 47 yards in his last two games combined and has seen just six targets over that span. However, he’s still seeing plenty of downfield work (104.4 air yards per game, 31.5 percent of Rams’ air yards) and will be in a dome environment, where he’s thrived since his early days with the Saints.

Then, the Falcons check in ranked in the bottom 10 or bottom five in receptions (83), receiving yards (1,182) and receiving touchdowns (10) allowed to wideouts, along with DK/FantasyDraft points (44.4) and FanDuel/Yahoo (36.3) points per game yielded to the position. Atlanta couples those dubious numbers with a 71.0 percent catch rate allowed (third highest), making them a sizable target for a Cooks bounce-back game.
