DraftKings Showdown Sunday Night Football: Dallas Cowboys vs Philadelphia Eagles
DraftKings Showdown: Flex
Dak Prescott – $10,800
The Eagles secondary allows the most points to wide receivers at 33 points per game, in order for those receivers to have success so must their quarterback. The Eagles have been a pass funnel defense as they’re very stingy against the run allowing only 72.8 yards per game.
The bad news for this Cowboys offense is that both starting tackles will likely be out Sunday night. You will want to build lineups with Dak that surround him with two or more pass catchers. Be sure to include Prescott in all builds that have Cooper or Gallup in as your Captain.
Carson Wentz – $10,000
A tough road matchup for Wentz and this Eagles passing attack as the Cowboys allow the 7th fewest points to quarterbacks. This Eagles offense has yet to play at full strength as DeSean Jackson is out yet again.
The bright spot in the rash of injuries that this Eagles offense has had to endure is that Carson Wentz is playing very well averaging just under 21 DraftKings points per game. For whatever reason, this Cowboys defense has played poorly this season after a top-10 unit last season.
That spells good news for Wentz who threw for 588 yards and 5 touchdowns in his two games against the Cowboys last season. As always, make sure to have Wentz in your flex when you have an Eagles pass-catcher as your Captain.
Alshon Jeffery – $8,800
While he is unlikely to get behind a defense, Alshon Jeffery averages the second most targets on this team (7.2 GM) and is heavily featured in the red-zone. I will want shares of Jeffery with and without Wentz, but most builds will contain his quarterback with him in the flex.
Miles Sanders – $6,400
The talented rookie out of Penn State has yet to be fully released by this coaching staff. With Jordan Howard running well, Sanders value has come in the passing game of late. After starting the season with four straight double-digit carry weeks, Sanders saw three last week and nine the week before that.
Unless the Eagles get out to a large lead, Sanders is unlikely to see double-digit carries Sunday night. He has made some plays in the passing game though, with catches of 40, 36, and 45 yards over the last four weeks. I
prefer Howard to Sanders in my flex builds that do not contain Wentz, I am more inclined to play Sanders if Wentz is in my flex.
Jordan Howard – $6,200
With his lack of involvement in the passing game, Howard was just outside of my Captain consideration this week. He has seen four straight games with over 10 carries and has scored in three of his last four games.
While he is unlikely to eclipse the 100 yard mark and earn that DraftKings bonus, he is the goal-line back for a productive offense. Howard is a great player in your flex for those lineups that do not contain Wentz.
