NBA DFS – Studs, Scrubs, & Duds (10/22)
NBA DFS Duds
Brandon Ingram (at TOR – $5,800 on DK; $6,300 on FD): The loss of Zion should mean more opportunities for Ingram. And while I like his overall game, there are better players who can give you similar production at a lower cost (VanVleet). And Toronto’s system is tried and true, even without Kawhi. Ingram is too inconsistent for my liking.
Lonzo Ball (at TOR – $5,400 on DK; $7,100 on FD): Lonzo isn’t a bad option on DraftKings with his salary and triple-double potential. But stay away on FanDuel with the higher salary. There are far better options out there. I’m not someone who has given up on Lonzo, but this is Holiday’s team and a tough test for the new look Pelicans.
Avery Bradley (at LAC – $4,100 on DK; $4,000 on FD): Bradley might start, which could make him look like at attractive option. Don’t bite. Bradley should only be used as a salary filler and if you believe in the Lakers above any other team this season.
Dwight Howard (at LAC – $4,500 on DK; $5,100 on FD): Everything said about Bradley applies to Howard. JaVale McGee is sitting there at a slightly higher price, but affordable enough to still fit into your lineup. McGee already has the chemistry with LeBron and is good for at least one fake injury leading to an easy basket as well.
Marc Gasol (vs NO – $5,500 on DK; $6,500 on FD): I favor Ibaka over Gasol due to Ibaka’s strong play in the regular season with the Raptors and the likelihood that he’s coming off the bench, allowing him to take advantage of the Pelicans bench.
