2020 NFL mock draft: Justin Herbert goes to the Chargers
By Brad Weiss
The Cleveland Browns went into the 2019 season with a lot of hype, and in fact, they have been on primetime nearly every weekend. However, Baker Mayfield has not had the same kind of magic that he did as a rookie last season, and as the team struggles on both sides of the ball, they find themselves once again with a top-10 pick.
While that is not how this season was supposed to go, this is where we are, and with the No. 9 overall selection, they should look to add the best safety in this draft class. Grant Delpit is a special player, and with the Browns, he would join a young secondary, feature cornerbacks Greedy Williams and Denzel Ward, giving Cleveland a special unit for years to come.
Delpit is an exciting player to watch, as he is outstanding in coverage, but also can come up on the line and get in the backfield. While the Browns could end up turning their season around, right now they have issues on both sides of the ball, and Delpit would certainly fix one of them.
The Miami Dolphins currently hold two top-10 picks in the 2020 NFL Draft, and that is thanks to the fact that the Pittsburgh Steelers have also been atrocious this season. Coming into 2019, many believed the Steelers would battle it out for the AFC North crown, but after a season-ending injury to Ben Roethlisberger, their expectations have changed dramatically.
During the 2019 season, the Steelers traded away their first round pick to the Miami Dolphins for cornerback Minkah Fitzpatrick, a former first round pick of the Dolphins. With the Steelers first round pick, the Dolphins should look to replace Fitzpatrick, bringing in Kristian Fulton from LSU at No. 10 overall.
Fulton is an outstanding cover corner, a big reason why the LSU Tigers are currently ranked at No. 2 in the country. He and teammate Grant Delpit are two of the better players in the country at their positions, and both could find themselves being picks in the first ten picks next April.
