FanDuel NBA Breakdown: 10/23 – Big Guys, Big Slate!

FanDuel NBA Breakdown: Top GPP Plays
These are my favorite plays for tournaments, where we are chasing ceilings, not just floors. You’ll notice I’m really high on a lot of big men today and paying up at center and power forward is probably going to be one of my top priorities.
C – Karl Anthony Towns (11k)
I’m really torn between Embiid and KAT as to which is the best big man to use tonight, and frankly, I won’t blame anyone for using one over the other in cash or GPP. KAT was a beast last year, especially after Jimmy Butler left Minnesota. Now Derrick Rose is gone, too, and he should see an even bigger increase in usage in this offense. At 1.68 fantasy points per minute this preseason, we saw that KAT is primed for a huge season and some massive fantasy nights.
PF – Marvin Bagley (8k)
Bagley is 8k tonight, but don’t fade him based on sticker shock. He had a huge preseason and is blossoming into a superstar scorer for the Kings. He is moving into the starting lineup this year and is going to have some dominant nights against weaker bigs. Tonight is definitely one of those nights as he will face a poor defensive Suns team. The Kings have the highest implied total today at 117 and I want a piece of their big 3 in a lot of my lineups tonight.
PF – Kristaps Porzingis (7.7k)
The Unicorn returns and he’s way too cheap! Porzingis looked great in the preseason and playing with Luka is going to make him better than ever. Despite missing all that time, he appears to be in great shape and I hope people are tentative to use him tonight because I sure won’t be. He’s a 7’3″ dude who is super skilled and gifted offensively. He’s going to have a huge year and he’s easily a 9-10k player on FanDuel, so take the discount while you can.
SG – Zach LaVine (8k)
I usually only write up three GPP plays but I couldn’t go with all the big men and no guards. That and I really want to smash the button on LaVine tonight at only 8k. He is a usage monster with a 31% usage rate this preseason that was about the same as Bradley Beal, but you can get him for 1800 less. He never met a shot he didn’t like and he’s going to continue to carry this Bulls team on offense this season.
