FanDuel NBA Breakdown: Game Stack of the Night

Sacramento (+1.5) @ Phoenix (232.5 O/U)

This will probably be one of the more popular games to stack tonight, but it’s hard to argue against it since it has such a tight spread and a Vegas total that is 7 points higher than any other game on the slate.

The Kings played fast last season, while the Suns actually played pretty slow. The addition of Ricky Rubio to Phoenix could actually help them to push the tempo more often and should take the ball out of Devin Booker’s hands as the primary point guard, allowing him to get open on the wing more often now that he’s not saddled with bringing the ball up the floor. Booker is an elite play tonight, and Rubio is a guy who’s cheap enough that you have to consider. Center DeAndre Ayton feels a bit like a trap based on the fact that the Kings now have Dewayne Dedmon at center this season who is a much better defender than any of their big men were last year.

Kelly Oubre is another Suns guy I love tonight. He’s affordable and comes off the bench gunning with the second unit in addition to usually finishing games the way that Manu Ginobli used to do with the Spurs.

The Kings’ side of the ball is definitely appealing, too, as Phoenix was one of the worst defensive teams in the NBA last year. DeAaron Fox, Buddy Hield, and Marvin Bagley III are all pieces that I would consider in this game stack. Rolling that trio out tonight gives you a chance to lock in a large chunk of the Kings slate-high team total. I would also consider Dewayne Dedmon, who is really cheap and gets Ayton’s defense. Ayton was abused by big men in the paint last year.

With the value available on this slate, it should be fairly easy to fit 4-5 pieces of this game into a game stack with Booker, Fox, Hield, Oubre, and Bagley III being my top five plays.
