NBA DFS Duds

Ja Morant (at MIA – $6,600 on DK; $7,500 on FD): Overall, I like Ja Morant and believe he’ll be a good pro. But I’m not feeling him at this price, especially on FanDuel, on opening night. DraftKings is more manageable, but it’s a tough match-up against a well-coached Miami team for a rookie who can be boom or bust.

Julius Randle (at SA – $7,800 on DK; $8,100 on FD): Someone has to get numbers for the Knicks and Randle is certainly their best option, but going into San Antonio with a completely revamped roster that features all forwards, no guards, and not even much talent? Not the best case scenario.

Tobias Harris (vs. BOS – $6,700 on DK; $7,400 on FD): The biggest problem for Tobias Harris is the team he’s on. Rebounds aren’t going to be there as much with Horford and Embiid and scoring will take an even bigger turn down than it did after the trade last season with Horford and Josh Richardson in the mix. The FanDuel price is too high for opening night. I like Josh Richardson much more for the Sixers.

Hassan Whiteside (vs. DEN – $7,000 on DK; $7,300 on FD): Whiteside is a high boom or bust player and while things should theoretically work in Portland while Nurkic is out, this is a tough first matchup and Whiteside has a tendency to check out when things don’t go his way. The guard play is strong in Portland and Whiteside just might be out of luck.

Joe Ingles (vs. OKC – $5,500 on DK; $5,600 on FD): With Bogdanovic in town, Ingles is going to see less opportunities. Bogdanovic is at a slightly lower price and I like him more in this game. Ingles is good, but he’s a rhythm shooter and it might be tough for him to get into a rhythm with the new Utah pieces. Plus, Paul George isn’t there to fire Ingles up and get him going.
