DraftKings Showdown: Flex

Kirk Cousins – $12,000

There hasn’t been a hotter fantasy quarterback than Kirk Cousins over the last three weeks. After having both of his receivers publicly bash Cousins, he has responded throwing for 907 yards, 10 touchdowns and zero interceptions. Throw in the revenge narrative and this is a smash spot for the former Redskin. While his value does take a hit without his best receiver, Cousins should be able to do whatever it is he wants against this Redskins secondary. Make sure to pair up all Viking pass catchers in at Captain with Cousins.

Case Keenum – $8,000

Another revenge game narrative! Unfortunately for Keenum, I am thinking that it will be the Vikings defense getting the revenge for his awful NFC Championship performance. Much like the Bears game, Keenum is likely to accrue a ton of garbage time in what should be a blowout. I am looking to pair him with a lot of my F1 builds and might have a few shares of him as my only Redskins on a Viking onslaught stack.

Olabisi Johnson – $6,200

When Adam Thielen went down early in last weeks game, Olabisi Johnson came in and played 71% of the snaps and was the clear-cut #2 receiver. The Vikings will likely be running 12 personnel (2 TE) with Diggs and Johnson out-wide. The two receivers lead the team in targets with eight each and should be the focal points in your builds with Cousins.

Kyle Rudolph – $5,400

Another player who receives a boost with Thielen out is Kyle Rudolph. The veteran tight end has had a quiet season with only 14 catches on 17 targets. That changed last week with the injury, as Rudolph was targeted a season high six times catching five of them. While the targets have been tough to come by, his red-zone target share is second highest on the team. If Washington can somehow keep this game competitive, Rudolph will see an increased target share and likely score Thursday night.

Irv Smith – $4,800

The rookie out of Alabama is starting to come on for this Vikings offense. He is coming off his best game as a pro, catching five of six targets last week. In a week when you’re looking to find some value, Smith makes a lot of sense at $4800. He is likely to finish behind Diggs, Johnson, and Rudolph in targets, but possesses big play upside with his athleticism while being the lowest owned of the four.

Alexander Mattison – $4,400

In the four games that the Vikings have held a lead of 14 or more Alexander Mattison has 42 carries (10.5 GM) for 222 yards (5.2 YPC) and one touchdown. In a game that I expect the Vikings to have a double-digit lead throughout, Mattison becomes a sneaky play at $4400. You should be sure to be overweight versus the field on Mattison tomorrow night.
