NBA DFS – Studs, Scrubs, and Duds For October 24
Duds
Russell Westbrook (vs. MIL – $8,900 on DK; $10,000 on FD): I don’t know how to fully feel about Westbrook in Houston, but I’m not liking it in game one. I need to truly see the fit in action before I can buy in. I still believe Harden will continue to get the majority of the touches and Westbrook is higher than Drummond (DraftKings) and Kawhi (FanDuel). Both of those guys are stronger options on the night.
Steph Curry (vs LAC – $9,400 on DK; $10,300 on FD): Curry will likely have a monster season as there is no Kevin Durant to take away from him going nuclear. But against this Clippers defense, particularly Beverley, and with so many new pieces to make sure are in the right place, I’m not liking Steph’s chances, especially on FanDuel.
Clint Capela (vs MIL – $7,500 on DK; $8,400 on FD): Clint Capela is usually good to flirt with a double-double and isn’t a bad option on DraftKings, but the price is too high on FanDuel with Westbrook in town. I don’t know if you’ve heard about this Westbrook guy, but he takes a lot of rebounds from centers. I’m worried Capela’s production there will dip this season.
Reggie Jackson (vs. ATL – $5,300 on DK; $5,700 on FD): At least for game on, Derrick Rose was the better point guard for the Pistons. Reggie could always have a bounce back game on the back-to-back, but inconsistency has been his career calling card. Rose is at a similar price and Luke Kennard is at a lower price. Both are better options.
Kevon Looney (vs. LAC – $5,100 on DK; $6,400 on FD): Looney is a holdover for the Warriors, which should help him but it’s tough sledding against this Clippers team. The price is too high on FanDuel for a guy who has a tendency to disappear if he’s not rebounding the ball at a high clip.
