DFS Fantasy Football: Running Backs to Start

Leonard Fournette (JAX) vs. NYJ

Fournette has bounced back in a huge fashion this year after a disappointing 2018 campaign. He has managed to rush for over 100 yards in three of his last four games and has looked quite impressive.

Whatever was ailing Fournette from a season ago, appears to be in the rear-view mirror for now as he continues to plow ahead. Now he gets the chance to take on a battered Jets squad who has allowed the eighth-most fantasy points per game (19.67) to opposing running backs.

I’m expecting yet another fine performance from the LSU product this Sunday afternoon in Jacksonville.

Dalvin Cook (MIN) vs. WSH

The story with Dalvin Cook continues to get better and better with each passing week. He is currently RB2 and has scored a touchdown in all but one game played this year.

He is the engine that is running that Minnesota offense and even when quarterback Kirk Cousins was struggling, Cook still found a way to be productive with his legs on the ground.

Now the Vikings will welcome to town the Washington Redskins who are awful at stopping the run. I’m expecting Cook to rumble to yet another top-five fantasy performance this Thursday night at home.

Aaron Jones (GB) @ KC

While the debate continues to circulate as to who should lead the Green Bay Packers’ backfield, I personally believe Aaron Jones is more up to the task than teammate Jamaal Williams. Jones outpaced Williams in carries this past week against Oakland 12 to 3 and is clearly the more productive back as a whole this year.

Aaron Jones is a capable back worthy of handling an RB1 type of workload moving forward, but that is all up to whether or not head coach Matt Lafleur wants to commit to one guy.

While that doesn’t appear to be the case, Jones can still be a highly useful piece to your fantasy team when called upon. Did you know that Aaron Jones has the most total touchdowns among active running backs? Fire him up this week against a shaky Chiefs run defense.
