DFS Fantasy Football: Wide Receivers to Start

Marvin Jones (DET) vs. NYG

After a career-day last Sunday against the Vikings where he caught ten passes for 93 yards and four touchdowns, Marvin Jones sits right atop of this list.

I don’t normally like to jump on one player after a huge performance like this because Jones has been pretty inconsistent with his fantasy productivity all season long, but the fact that Detroit will be hosting the Giants has me feeling hopeful.

New York has allowed the sixth-most receiving yards this year, along with allowing opposing wide-outs to score the seventh-most fantasy points per game (24.86). Starting either Jones or fellow teammate Kenny Golladay wouldn’t be a bad idea this week.

Stefon Diggs (MIN) vs. WSH

Before speaking up about his role in the team offense, Stefon Diggs was a worthy bench candidate. His lack of usage in the offensive schemes severely hurt his stock and was making fantasy owners who had him experience buyer’s remorse for investing a high draft pick in him.

Luckily, his fortunes have changed as he has been WR2 since Week 5. He’s had back-to-back games where he has had over 140 receiving yards and a trio of touchdowns. Now Diggs will be playing under the prime time lights on Thursday Night Football as the Vikings will host the Washington Redskins.

Washington seems to be in tank-mode and their secondary has been very generous this season. Couple that with the fact that Adam Thielen will be out with a hamstring injury, make Diggs an even bigger target for Kirk Cousins to throw to. Start him until further notice.

Tyler Lockett (SEA) @ ATL

Lockett has proven he can be a reliable top target in Seattle’s offense this year now that Doug Baldwin has retired. He currently participates in the third-most routes by a receiver (93.9%) and has the ninth-most receptions among all active receivers as well (40).

Now Lockett gets the pleasure of taking on the Atlanta Falcons’ secondary which is the second easiest opponent for any wide-out to face. With quarterback Russell Wilson on pace to have an MVP-type of season, Lockett’s chances of doing some serious damage to Atlanta seem very likely. Hit the ignition with Lockett and enjoy the show.
