DraftKings NBA Small Forwards:

Best Bets:

The top of SF is horrible again tonight, a problem that is only exacerbated by the terrible matchup LeBron has with Utah. He was good enough against the Jazz last year, but even at the discounted price, I’m not sure I want LeBron here. I tend to think Davis is going to do a bulk of the damage against the Jazz.

There is a big drop, but most of it is in price only. Both Danilo Gallinari and Brandon Ingram had really good debut performances for their new teams. I like Ingram more due to his role in the offense, but Gallinari could put up some big numbers against Boston as well. Neither are a bad choice if you can afford a middle tier SF.

Honorable Mention:

Toronto was assaulted from long range by the Pelicans in the opener. That’s good news for Gordon Hayward. Hayward looked like the Hayward we saw in Utah a couple of years ago, logging 25 points in 35 minutes. He’s completely over the horrid injury that cost him all of 2017-18 and most of last year recovering from it. I know that it’s only one game, but there’s a lot to like about Hayward.

Robert Covington turned in a solid stat line but it could have been a lot better. Covington was just one rebound shy of a double double, and he amassed 15 points without hitting a three-point shot. Once he starts shooting threes again, his DraftKings points total could explode.

We never really know what is going to happen with the Denver wings in any given game, but Will Barton started and put up a line arguably better than anything he did last year. The Nuggets have to start him again, right? Right? They damn well better!

Dark Horses:

Care to take a guess at who the Lakers’ leading scorer was on Tuesday? LeBron? Nice try, but no. Not A.D. either, even though he had a nice Lakers debut. Who’s left? How about Danny Green. Yes, that Danny Green. Green scored 18 of his team high 28 points in a massive third quarter. He is like a KCP that can play defense, which is just what the Lakers need.

OG Anunoby was mostly just a body on the court for the Raptors last year, but he turned in a good line up the opener. Anunoby had 11 points, seven rebounds, and two blocks. That’s a solid stat line for someone in this price range.

Treveon Graham started for Minnesota at minimum price on Wednesday, and turned in a strong stat line for the price. His price jumped $500, but if Graham can get us around 24 DraftKings points again, I don’t think any of us will complain.
