The Gallus roast of Imperium

Imperium, our benevolent — unless we disagree with them! — overlords open the show. Clearly WALTER got the message that him wearing Vans was exposing the business, because he has changed his footwear to more nondescript black cross trainers. The Vans still work for Alexander Wolfe however, who definitely loves to both skate and destroy.

Less exciting than a footwear change: Imperium is out there for their all too familiar Imperium promo. Unless the point of always repeating themselves is that they are supposed to be like a fascist dictatorship that keeps repeating the same things over and over until the beleaguered masses come to accept it — which, very dark — this is the single-most annoying aspect of Imperium as a group. “Imperium are the most dominant force, no man can compete with us, the mat is sacred.” We get it boys, good lord.

Thankfully, there’s a gang of ruffians not willing to be told what to do. Enter Gallus, who emerge from the back, having a big ole laugh about what’s transpiring. Joe Coffey, man of the people reiterates our above point. “ThE mAt Is SaCrEd,” enough already! They laugh, the crowd laughs, we all laugh. Coffey then informs Imperium that they are not top boys, despite WALTER holding the UK title.

Mark Coffey — notable alum of the Harvard Lampoon — then steps in to call WALTER “Jolly Wally” to the delight of everyone in the crowd. More importantly, he reminds Imperium that NXT UK is Gallus’ kingdom, they’re just living in it.

So it seems we’re fast-headed for a heel-on-heel tag team title feud between Gallus and Imperium. Really hope this doesn’t mean that Markus and Wolfie get a super short reign, but if the “point” of Imperium is to have complete power over the entire brand in the form of the men’s championships, it may be what happens.
