DraftKings NBA Shooting Guards:

Best Bets:

I’m not using Harden, and I likely wont until he can adapt to the players around him. DraftKings sent me this nice little email recap saying that Harden was my most drafted player last season. I believe that. He wont be this year.

As far as second fiddle goes, I’m not crazy about any of them. I love the volume for Beal, but I think we can do better with someone else that isn’t playing the Spurs. Booker against the Clippers is no picnic either. Donovan Mitchell against the Clippers is easily the best option at SG, but again, I’m not sure he’s worth paying for. This position isn’t scarce. It’s just weak at the top.

Honorable Mention:

Zach LaVine has been an elite scorer over the first two games. He doesn’t handle the ball as much as he did his first year plus in Chicago, but that has actually made him a better shooter. Assists are nice, but I’ll take the extra points and be happy with it.

I really have no desire to use a shooter only like Buddy Hield against the Jazz. I’ll save the money and play Luke Kennard instead. Kennard and Rose have picked up a lot of the slack with Blake out, and Kennard is seeing a ton of minutes right now for a very low price.

Josh Richardson’s Philly debut was a good one. Not only did he drop in 17 points, but he stuffed the stat sheet in other areas and locked down Kemba. I’m a little less crazy about Rose facing Richardson, but I like Richardson even more in the inverse situation.

Dark Horses:

Sooner or later the shots are going to start dropping for Markelle Fultz. In the meantime, he a good enough rebounder and a strong enough passer to get plenty of value for the price. Augustin’s hold on the starting PG job has felt tenuous the entire time. No one played well enough to take it last year, but Fultz could do so this year with more strong performances.

Josh Hart was cold most of the game last night, but he came alive in the second half. If you don’t want to take a Tums with your lineup, Bryn Forbes is a safer pick, but I still think Hart has more upside.

My pick: Hart(SG); LaVine(SG)
