FanDuel NBA Breakdown – Value Plays
Nemanja Bjelica (4,100) – As of writing this article, he has not actually played in his second game. He is taking over as the the starting power forward for the injured Marvin Bagley, at least for the foreseeable future. In a very small sample size in his first game, he had 1.20 FPM with Marvin off the floor. We are getting a very nice price tag on a player that should see anywhere between 25-30 minutes. He will likely be pretty popular as well, and makes for a great cash game value play.
Patrick Beverley (5,100) – Pat Bev has never been a high usage player, but what he does provide is very solid defense, which is usually better suited for real basketball, and less for fantasy. He racked up five steals last game, playing 28 minutes once against hitting value. The Suns are pretty bad on defense, and Beverley will be needed on the court to match up with Devin Booker on defense. This makes his role pretty secure, and gives him plenty of opportunity to score.
P.J Tucker (4,600) – Another year, and Tucker continues to log heavy minutes for the Rockets. He is another player that is used more for his defensive skills, but can occasionally spot up in the corner, and knock down a three pointer. He played 38 minutes in the season opener, hitting value with ease, and actually scored 17 points which was a surprise. I do no expect him to score more than ten points on a nightly basis, but he grabs a good bit of rebounds, blocks, and steals which helps him put up points.
