Fantasy football picks: Week 8 FanDuel GPP breakdown
Fantasy football picks: Week 8 FanDuel GPP breakdown
Matt Stafford – Please give me Stafford at low ownership against the Giants. He is currently the projected below Goff, Watson, and Wilson, all of which are in good spots themselves. Matt recently threw four touchdowns, and 364 yards against the Vikings, and they still lost the game. While he is doomed as a real life quarterback, that does not mean we shouldn’t be using him in fantasy. Stafford currently ranks fourth in DYAR, fifth in DVOA, fifth in QBR, has 13 scores, on just 3 interceptions, and a 63% completion rate.
New York ranks 13th in fantasy points against quarterbacks, but 27th with a 23.1% DVOA against the pass. Matt will be forced to throw the ball on basically every play, since Kerryon Johnson has just been placed on the IR. We all love to target the Giants, especially in the passing game. The price is also very good on Stafford, making this one of my top plays on the day.
Josh Allen – This play comes courtesy of @DCollins57 who commented on my recent tweet where I asked people to submit a player that I would choose randomly, and write-up in this article. This is a really good play, and I a very happy he submitted it. Josh Allen is coming in at slightly lower ownership than the above quarterback. They are also priced the exact same on FanDuel, which makes deciding between them very challenging. While I would rather play Stafford, it strictly due to his sheer volume compared to Allen. Josh averages right around 30 passing attempts per game, but he does have a solid 63.8% completion rate, on those attempts. His ability to rush the football gives him more upside than his stats indicate. Philadelphia gives up the 12th most points against opposing quarterbacks, with a 9.5% DVOA against the pass, good for 20th in the league. This is a solid match-up, and Allen makes for a great play.
Drew Brees – I won’t spend much time on this play, but I will say I have a great deal of interest in Brees, if he does indeed play. He has been getting in limited practices this week, and has been very motivated to be ready for this Sunday. As of right now his status is still unknown, but I would not be shocked if he does play. We all know how bad the Cardinals have been on defense, specifically through the air. If Brees does play, he makes for a great play at just 7.2k.
