Fantasy football picks: Week 8 FanDuel GPP breakdown

Le’Veon Bell – Give him to me dirt cheap, and at less than 10% ownership. That is what we are getting out of Bell for this Sunday. People are glazing right over him and going right to Chase Edmunds. The only thing they are really chasing is game logs, and as you all know, I like to dig a little bit deeper than that. The Jaguars always have a solid defense, but this season they are giving up the 13th most points to opposing quarterbacks, and have a 2.3% DVOA against the rush, which is ranked 27th. Bell is logging a ridiculous 92.2% of the snaps on the year. Of course, his game logs as of late do not represent that. He has not eclipsed 20 carries, in since week two, and has back to back games of only one receiving target. With Darnold back under center, I fully expect Bell to get back to his workhorse ways, and give us the results we want come Sunday.

Alvin Kamara – Currently listed as questionable, Kamara is fantasy gold if he suits up for this game. Yes, Arizona is actually good against the rush, but they are terrible against the pass, and specifically pass catching running backs. They rank 26th in DVOA against the pass for reference. This play does require a few things to happen. First, Kamara has to get in one more practice, and then suit up. Second, Drew Brees also has to overcome his questionable tag and play as well. It has been very apparent that Alvin’s production is mostly dependent on Drew Brees playing. If both of those things happen, Kamara has some amazing upside.

Todd Gurley – This week is loaded at the running back position, and all of these players are just going overlooked in these elite spots. Slowly Gurley is seeing his workload increase, now up to 65% of the snaps played on the year. He must recently saw his highest amount of carries against Atlanta, at 18, and has three straight weeks where he scored double-digit fantasy points. Not to mention the uptick in passing production. The Bengals give up the most points in the league to running backs, with a 4.1% DVOA against the rush, good for 28th. The game script should also favor Gurley, as the Rams should be up very early in this game. All of these things point to him having a breakout game, at a reduced price point.
