DraftKings NBA Picks October 27: KAT of nine tails
By Mike Marteny
DraftKings NBA Small Forwards:
Best Bets:
I guess now we have to talk about LeBron. I will never sit here and say that LeBron is a bad play because he almost never is. The usage rate is too high and his floor is one of the best. I don’t think LeBron has massive upside anymore with A.D. around, but it honestly probably makes his floor better. The 46 DraftKings points that he had in the opener are the floor. That means that any time LeBron is below five figures, he is likely a pretty good value play.
Honorable Mention:
Words can’t explain just how disappointed I am that Jimmy Butler is missing the return trip to Minneapolis this year. A year later, things may have blown over a little more. I was curious to see just how nice Minnesota would be to Butler.
Instead we get Justise Winslow at a discount price, at least for the numbers he has put up with Butler out. Winslow has 88 DraftKings points in two games without Butler. This is going to be a similarly huge game for Winslow. We all saw Kyrie carve up the Wolves on Wednesday.
Dark Horses:
Joe Harris is one of the better spot shooters in the league, and he fits perfectly in the Nets’ system. I do believe that Dinwiddie is a better value, but if Harris gets hot, he’s one of the best. You just have to decide if that risk is rewarding enough to take.
Memphis badly needs a coach on the floor, and that role seems to have fallen to Jae Crowder. He is never going to be the guy that takes over the game, but Crowder is playing 30 minutes for just $4,400. Something is off here. Crowder is a superb value at that price.
If you are in desperate need of value, Dorian Finney-Smith is starting for the Mavs at minimum price. His 24 and 19 DraftKings point games to start the season are nothing to write home about, but they are damn sure worth minimum price!
My pick: Crowder(F), DFS(PF); Winslow(SF); Crowder(F)
