Quarterbacks

Last week I correctly predicted half of the top 12 fantasy quarterbacks. While guys like Deshaun Watson, Kyler Murray, and Daniel Jones struggled to produce for fantasy football owners in week seven, Jacoby Brissett, Jared Goff, Lamar Jackson, Josh Allen, and Gardner Minshew all performed close to their ranking towards the top of the QB list.

Despite playing the Jets, I correctly predicted Tom Brady outside the top 12 quarterbacks, same with Carson Wentz. Kirk Cousins and Matthew Stafford benefited from a shootout in their game to both land in the top three for fantasy QBs, and Philip Rivers had a solid game against a good Titans defense to crack the top eight.

  1. Russell Wilson SEA vs ATL
  2. Deshaun Watson HOU vs OAK
  3. Aaron Rodgers GB vs KC
  4. Jared Goff LAR vs CIN
  5. Josh Allen BUF vs PHI
  6. Teddy Bridgewater/Drew Brees NO vs AZ
  7. Matthew Stafford DET vs NYG
  8. Kyler Murray AZ vs NO
  9. Tom Brady NE vs CLE
  10. Derek Carr OAK vs HOU
  11. Mason Rudolph PIT vs MIA
  12. Gardner Minshew JAC vs NYJ
  13. Jacoby Brissett IND vs DEN
  14. Ryan Tannehill TEN vs TB
  15. Philip Rivers LAC vs CHI
  16. Jameis Winston TB vs TEN
  17. Carson Wentz PHI vs BUF
  18. Matt Moore KC vs GB
  19. Daniel Jones NYG vs DET
  20. Sam Darnold NYJ vs JAC
  21. Matt Schaub ATL vs SEA
  22. Joe Flacco DEN vs IND
  23. Baker Mayfield CLE vs NE
  24. Kyle Allen CAR vs SF
  25. Jimmy Garoppolo SF vs CAR
  26. Mitchell Trubisky CHI v LAC
  27. Ryan Fitzpatrick MIA vs PIT
  28. Andy Dalton CIN vs LAR
  29. Taysom Hill NO vs AZ

The Falcons have been the worst defense against opposing fantasy quarterbacks all year. Russell Wilson has been one of the best QBs in fantasy football this year and should bounce back from a bit of struggle last week in the Hawks loss to the Ravens.

Deshaun Watson should be able to bounce back as well against a Raiders D that got destroyed last week by Aaron Rodgers, who was without Davante Adams. Rodgers should be able to keep it going against an improved, but still not great, Chiefs defense, even without Adams again.

I also like Jared Goff, Josh Allen, whoever starts for the Saints, Matthew Stafford, and Derek Carr as potential top ten plays this week, and solid DFS plays as well. I think lower-owned guys like Mason Rudolph, Ryan Tannehill, and Carr have a chance to outperform some bigger names this week. I’d start them over guys like Carson Wentz, Baker Mayfield, and Kyle Allen, who I think will struggle against the best defenses in the league.
