8. Chuba Hubbard, RB, Oklahoma State

The Oklahoma State Cowboys have kind of been all over the map in terms of their results this season but they were booming in Week 9 as they knocked off the No. 23 ranked Iowa State Cyclones. And while freshman quarterback Spencer Sanders had a big day, running back Chuba Hubbard continued to establish himself as perhaps the most consistently productive runner in college football.

Hubbard carried the ball 22 times for 116 yards and one score in the victory, breaking off a 65-yard run for his touchdown. On the season now, the Oklahoma State workhorse now has 1,381 yards and 16 touchdowns on the ground. While he hasn’t been much of a receiver out of the backfield, Hubbard has been a monster and the lifeblood of the Cowboys offense this season.

7. Jonathan Taylor, RB, Wisconsin

Overall, there’s no denying the fact that Jonathan Taylor has again had a dominant 2019 season for the Wisconsin Badgers. Having said that, if there’s something that holds him back in regards to his Heisman candidacy, it’s the fact that he’s not consistently stepped up in the biggest moments for his team. That again proved true on Saturday as Taylor delivered a lukewarm performance in the loss to Ohio State.

Taylor had just 52 yards on 20 carries against the Buckeyes while grabbing just one reception for five yards. After having only 80 yards on 26 carries against Michigan State as well and with Wisconsin suffering their second straight loss, it really dings Taylor’s candidacy. Maybe he comes back and continues to build on his 1,009 yards and 15 touchdowns for the year but the disappointment from Week 9
