Dan’s Dumpster Dives: FanDuel NBA value plays

Luke Kennard — FanDuel $4900

The Pistons aren’t exactly what I would consider to be a “good” team and they’re actually going to be in what I assume is a low total matchup against the Indiana Pacers. However, Kennard is just under the $5k mark that we’re limiting ourselves to and he’s been getting a ton of minutes. Minutes and usage are really the biggest factors in a fantasy basketball player producing a decent outcome. Sometimes they’re not even very good players really but they get enough rebounds, putbacks, steals, assists, blocks, points, etc. and you’re all set. In order to have an opportunity at any and all of those stats, they have to be on the floor. That’s really the number-one priority. In the case of Luke Kennard, he’s been getting over 30 minutes a game and as long as Blake Griffin is still out, there are shots to be put up.

Danuel House — FanDuel $4100

I like this play quite a bit actually because I want to get pieces of this game. I said earlier I think it may end up being a blowout in favor of Houston which makes me think House could get more run than he already has been. In two games so far he’s gotten 26 and 30 minutes. I have seen a bit of Houston playing thanks to League Pass right now and I think he may be getting a bit of run over (or alongside) Eric Gordon. If the Rockets do end up blowing out the Thunder, I think House will easily get 30 minutes and should crush his value. Against the Pelicans, he got up to 30 minutes in sort of a close game that was high-paced and he managed to get 27.6 FanDuel points. The more I talk myself into it, the more I think he may be my favorite scrub on the slate if I don’t want to pay up at small forward on FanDuel.
