NBA DFS Picks and Pivots – Game Stack:

The biggest news we are waiting on today is the status of Joel Embiid who missed Saturday’s game against the Pistons and is questionable again tonight against the Atlanta Hawks. If Embiid were to sit out again tonight, much like it did on Saturday, this Sixers game would become the ideal game stacking target due to the pricing and increased fantasy production for the remaining starters.

With Embiid off the court, there was really no clear “usage winner” as no single starter had more than a 25% usage mark but what you did see was that the “Core 4” of Ben Simmons, Tobias Harris, Al Horford and Josh Richardson were locked into 30+ minutes and took 70% of the shot attempts for the Sixers offense in this one.

The trio of Simmons, Harris and Horford combined for 135 fantasy points on Saturday and at a combined price tag of just over $40K tonight would give you over 3.3x with similar production which makes them a viable cash game core with GPP upside.

The nice part of this game stack on the other side is that the Hawks production comes primarily from two players in Trae Young ($16.4K) and John Collins ($14.2K) who are the only two starters who have played 30+ minutes in each of the Hawks first two contests.

Young is a premier play on this slate as his 38% usage rate is second among NBA starters behind only Kawhi Leonard so far this season and has put up 62 and 65 fantasy points in his first two contests of the young season.

Young is an elite stand-alone play, but he makes for a seemingly too cheap foundation piece in a game stack here for five players you can lock in and still have just under $10K per player on FantasyDraft for the last three guys into your build.
