NFL quarterback rankings, Week 9: Baker Mayfield isn’t dangerous
Joe Montana Division
4. Tom Brady (LW: 3)
Brady threw for 259 yards on 36 attempts with a pair of touchdowns. Not bad, not special. It’s a good way to describe his season to this point. The 42-year-old hasn’t been asked to do much because New England’s defense is ridiculous. When called upon, though, he’ll answer the bell. For now, he moves to fourth.
3. Deshaun Watson (LW: 4)
Watson had to move up after what he did against the Raiders. Trailing throughout much of the game, the third-year man kept bringing Houston back before authoring one of the signature plays of the year, spinning out of sack, getting kicked in the eye and then throwing a dime to Daniel Fells for the game-winning score.
2. Aaron Rodgers (LW: 2)
Rodgers is showing why he’s a legendary highlight reel. Against the Chiefs, Rodgers made two of the more ridiculous throws you’ll ever see, including a sensational touchdown to Jamaal Williams as he was being sacked. Rodgers and the next man on our list are the top two MVP candidates, and it’s not close.
1. Russell Wilson (LW: 1)
After an ugly game against the Ravens, Wilson bounced back playing the Falcons (who doesn’t?). In Seattle’s 27-20 win, Wilson threw for 9.1 YPA and two touchdowns. On the year, Wilson has 2,127 yards with 17 touchdowns and one interceptions. Pretty damn special.
