2020 NFL mock draft: Buccaneers select Jake Fromm in first round
By Brad Weiss
The Kansas City Chiefs had a tough roll of the dice on Sunday night, as they had to welcome in Aaron Rodgers and the Green Bay Packers in a Sunday Night Football tilt. Of course, when this game was scheduled for primetime, it was supposed to be Patrick Mahomes against Rodgers, but Mahomes could not go with his dislocated kneecap.
While Mahomes should be back soon, the real question on this Chiefs team remains what to do about this secondary. They tried to bolster it this offseason by bringing in some big names, but in the end, they are having the same issues stopping the pass that they had last season.
With their first round pick in 2020, the Chiefs should dip into a very deep cornerback class, bringing in Paulson Adebo from Stanford. Adebo has soft hands, can cover really well, and on the Chiefs, he would be given a chance to make an impact right away.
The Minnesota Vikings are starting to find their stride, and if Kirk Cousins continues to perform at this level, they could be headed deep into the NFC playoffs. The Vikings are not only getting the job done on the ground with Dalvin Cook, but Cousins has been outstanding, and is the top-rated passer in the NFL since Week 6.
Even though Cousins has been playing at an elite level, that does not mean that the Vikings shouldn’t go out and get more help up front along the offensive line. In this draft class, Alex Leatherwood from Alabama is one of the more versatile offensive linemen, due to the fact he can play tackle, or inside.
Minnesota has a strong roster on both sides of the ball, but you have to think they are going to look long and hard at this offensive line this offseason. Leatherwood can fill in at so many spots along the offensive line, and one thing is for sure, if Cousins gets time to throw, he can pick teams apart.
