DraftKings NBA Point Guards:

Best Bets:

For the first time since the start of their reunion tour, Harden outscored Westbrook for DFS purposes. The thing to take away from this was that Russ still hit over 5x value even though Harden outscored him. We wont see any 70’s or 80’s like we did last year from these two unless one of them sits, but they can both hit value alongside each other. That probably makes them more cash plays than GPP as this point.

After a terrible opening night, Steph Curry has stepped it up in each of the last couple games. His usage rate is through the roof, so I really don’t care who he’s playing against. He’s more to the level that we expect, but Curry still hasn’t played more than 31 minutes in a game yet. When he gets up to normal minutes, look out.

Dallas was the only team to hold Damian Lillard under 50 DraftKings points. I doubt Oklahoma City can accomplish that feat. That makes Lillard a strong play for his price range, and an interesting pivot off of higher ownership up top.

Honorable Mention:

Usage rate is important in DFS. Kyrie Irving’s is nearly as high as Curry’s. I’m still not a big fan of Kyrie here. He’s an interesting pivot, but Brogdon is a really good defender. If anyone can slow down Kyrie, it’s Brogdon.

Kyle Lowry looks in mid-season form already, putting up over 40 DraftKings points in three of the four games. He’s averaging right around 6x value. If you are going with a balanced build, Lowry should be your anchor. He has been outstanding so far.

I mentioned Brogdon’s defensive prowess a bit ago, but it’s his offensive game that has really taken off this year. Brogdon has scored 67 points in three games for the Pacers. They need him to score with Oladipo out. Better efficiency would be nice, but us DFS people don’t care a lot about that. Brogdon has at least 45 DraftKings points in every game. That’s 6.5x value on average!

Dark Horse:

Ricky Rubio already had a bout with a minor injury, but he didn’t miss a beat against his former team on Monday. Rubio put up 35 DraftKings points in just 28 minutes. The Suns are fun to watch right now, and Rubio is a big reason why. You can bet they’ll be geeked up for this one with the Warriors to try and show they belong. That starts with the sparkplug running the point.

There are some really good value options at the point. Devonte Graham continues to be a force for Charlotte. We also have Dennis Schroder who started slow but has had two monster games in a row. Schroder racked up 89.25 DraftKings points against the Warriors and Rockets. Chris who?

Isaiah Thomas was limited to 20 minutes in his 2019-20 debut, but he put up 28.25 DraftKings points in that little time. That caps his upside, but Thomas did all of that with a $3,500 price tag. Even at $4,000, that’s a great value and Thomas could see a few more minutes in an uptempo game with Houston. He wont play more than 24 minutes, but there’s loads of potential for the price.
