Duds

Dennis Schroder (vs. POR – $5,500 on DK; $5,800 on FD): Schroder is coming off back-to-back strong games, but don’t be fooled. This is a game where he disappoints everyone who was ready to buy in and can’t buy a bucket. The Blazers defense isn’t good, which should be helpful, but I’ve seen this act too often from Schroder and his salary has climbed as a result of those two games.

Donovan Mitchell (vs. LAC – $7,800 on DK; $8,300 on FD): Aside from the opening game against the Thunder, Mitchell hasn’t quite gotten it going this season. And going up against the Clippers is a tough way to get back on track. There’s better value below him until he can find some consistency or at least has a better matchup.

Thomas Bryant (vs. HOU – $6,600 on DK; $7,100 on FD): Bryant has been fine, but disappointing given the salary. You simply need more from him at this salary and even though I’m not sold on Houston’s defense, they do well against opposing centers.

Giannis Antetokounmpo (at BOS – $10,800 on DK; $11,600 on FD): This has less to do with Giannis and more to do with how many great players there are on Wednesday and Giannis’ salary. I think Embiid and Towns outscore him and wouldn’t be surprised if Westbrook or Harden top Giannis’ total as well.

Nikola Vucevic (vs NY – $8,000 on DK; $8,500 on FD): Vucevic just hasn’t been good enough at this salary. Even though the Magic are going up against the Knicks, the Magic offense leaves a lot to be desired and Vucevic isn’t making his presence felt. Sabonis has a higher ceiling for me and Capela is a more consistent option. Both are cheaper options than Vucevic.
