1. Everton beat Spurs

The final game of the weekend sees Spurs travel to Goodison Park to play Everton in a match that should be quite close. Both of these sides aren’t on great runs of form and it’s hard to predict which way this will go.

Everton were unfortunate to lose to Brighton last week whilst Tottenham were not able to keep up with Liverpool in a 2-1 defeat at Anfield. Spurs weren’t bad in that game but the difference in class was clear to see for all.

In this game, Mauricio Pochettino’s side should have the upper hand in terms of quality but his team seem to be lacking a bit of confidence at the moment which can almost be more important. Marco Silva’s side are incredibly hard to understand when you look at their form and measure one of their performances against another this season.

It seems that the Everton players still want Silva in charge as they are playing hard for him on the pitch but it could be that his game management isn’t enabling the players to win as many matches as they should be.

In recent years Everton have invested a lot of money in new players but they still haven’t developed into a much stronger side. Silva was brought in to make that happen and it feels like he’s struggling to really make his mark. Fortunately for the Portuguese manager he seems to be getting the time to do this but he’ll need to find consistency sooner rather than later.

Both of these sides like to play soccer the right way and that should make for an entertaining match-up. Spurs will take the lead through Heung-Min Son only to lose 2-,1 for the second time in a week on Merseyside, after goals from Richarlison and Gylfi Sigurdsson.
