DraftKings EuroLeague Guards:

The big three guards are all present on this slate. Vasilije Micic is averaging the most DraftKings points at 38.5 per round. Alexey Shved has by far the best matchup. Micic has the biggest upside. Nick Calathes and Shved are both very consistent. I’ve usually gone Calathes or Micic over Shved this year, but I may switch today.

My only worry with Shved is if Khimki blows out Belgrade. However with Jovic out and Kramer likely out, Shved will have a huge hand in said blowout if there is one. I’m going to try to cram Shved and Micic in one line. I think there’s enough value to pull it off, but it’s not without risk.

That also means a shot at lower ownership for Nick Calathes. I usually don’t roll as many DraftKings EuroLeague lineups as I do NBA, but I may play Calathes in one just for separation.

It’s really hard not to play Jimmer Fredette right now. As we say in his college career, when he gets hot, he stays hot for a while. We are in the middle of one of those hot streaks. Athens isn’t leaving him out there all that long, but Jimmer is at least playing half the game and shooting double digit shots. You probably can’t cram him in with Shved and Micic, but you can fade one of those for Jimmer today and not lose a lot in production.

I do like Krunoslav Simon, but with so many other good guards on this slate, some that are even cheaper than him, I don’t know that it’s really worth our while to use him. Simon is the guy that gets lost in the shuffle today.

With injuries mounting for Belgrade, Lorenzo Brown gave them a much needed lift on Tuesday. Brown went for 30.75 DraftKings points. His price is still a solid bargain, but you have to be willing to use your UTIL slot on a guard. Some people really don’t like to do that.

It hasn’t mattered whether Dairis Bertans has started or not. He still plays around 23-25 minutes for Khimki every game. Bertans is mostly a scorer though. There’s always a risk in using guys like that.

I keep asking myself where the value is coming from today, and I keep going back to the Khimki backcourt. If Chris Kramer plays, I think I’m off of both Bertans and Vyacheslav Zaytsev. Zaytsev had one of his better games last round with Kramer out, so if Kramer is out again, Zaytsev is one of my favorite value plays.
