Fantasy football picks: Week 9 FanDuel GPP breakdown
Patrick Mahomes – It is expected that Pat will be making his awaited return from injury, and it can not come soon enough if you are a Chiefs fan. For the first time in two seasons, he is not the highest priced quarterback, as Wilson is now the highest priced quarterback on the slate. It is possible that people will forget how good this man is, and I am fully prepared to take full advantage. While the Vikings have been decent against the pass, Mahomes is a completely different animal, he is match-up proof, and anytime we can get him at lower ownership we should be playing him in GPP’s.
Josh Allen – While Josh is not going to throw the ball at a very high completion rate, he has plenty of upside with his ability to rush the ball compared to that of other quarterbacks. He actually only has one bad game so far this season, and his only major concern is his problem with turnovers. He had three fumbles last game, and actually has seven on the season. If he can hold onto the ball, Allen could put up 20 points with ease against Washington. They give up the 12th most points against opposing quarterbacks and rank 24th with a 17.5% DVOA against the pass. Considering all these factors, and the price, Josh is a great GPP play once again.
Sam Darnold – This is a pure GPP play, as Darnold could very well drop five points this week, even with the great match-up. That is something I do not expect that, but I am also very realistic with my players. I will say that this is his best match-up by far in the four games he has played this season. Miami gives up the third-most points to quarterbacks, and rank dead last in the league in DVOA against the pass at 69.1%. While he does come with some risk, he has some great upside at his price tag given the soft match-up.
