Fantasy football picks: Week 9 FanDuel GPP breakdown
Le’Veon Bell – Here I am once again writing up Bell in my GPP article, after another dud of a performance last week. Some of his poor results are not his fault, poor play calling, and simply not getting him enough carries is contributing to his overall production. Of course, we should expect nothing less from the Jets, as they have not had a competitive team in quite some time. Bell is getting 90% of the snaps, and 4.9 YPC which is not bad. Miami gives up the second-most points against running backs, again ranking dead last in rushing DVOA at 9.1%. Even with a terrible opposing defense, people will have little interest in him due to recent form, but I am willing to go right back to this play in GPP’s.
Josh Jacobs – If Josh was not so pricey, I would be very tempted to play him in my main lineup. I really enjoy targeting the Detroit defense with running backs, and Jacobs is getting plenty of work in his first NFL season. The snap count is lower than I would normally look for in a starting back, especially at his price, but the rushing attempts are there which is all the really matters. Detroit gives up the most points against running backs in the league, ranking 21st in rushing DVOA. There is so much to like about him, and Jacobs is one of my favorite GPP plays on the day.
Melvin Gordon – This is a true GPP play, which is something I never thought I would expect to say that but that is the world we live in. He is slowly taking more snaps away from Ekler, actually playing one more snap than him last week. Now he gets the Packers defense, who give up the seventh most points against running backs, ranking 19th in DVOA against the rush. Gordon is cheap enough for me to have some interest in tourneys.
