Fantasy football picks: Week 9 FanDuel GPP breakdown

Cleveland Browns – Well the season is all but over for these two teams, and once again the Browns figured out a way to become the laughing stock of the league. After making some sensational moves during the off-season, this is a team that looks even worse than they did last year. Still, it isn’t like the Broncos look any better, not to mention they just traded away one of their best offensive players. Denver is ranked 29th in offensive adjusted sack rate, at 9.8%, while the Cleveland defense is ranked fifth in sack rate at 8.5%. To put it in simple terms, this is going to be a long game for the Denver offensive line. The Browns will be getting one of the softer match-ups since they played the Jets in week two, and they should also dominate the time of possession, which is such an underrated factor when looking at defenses. If your defense is one the field for most of the game, they will be too tired to perform. I like the price tag on them, and they are my top GPP defense on the day.

Pittsburgh Steelers – So we have a couple of factors to take into consideration when playing the Pittsburgh defense. Number one, do we think they are actually as good as they are playing? Well, I think the answer to that is indeed yes. They actually have not had a bad game fantasy-wise since week one against the Patriots, shutting down the Chargers high powered offense just two weeks ago. The secondary has stepped things up in a big way creating multiple interceptions each week, they rank ninth in overall DVOA, and third in adjusted sack rate at 9.4%. Sure the Colts are not an offense that we normally target, but this is a GPP article, you have to take some risks sometimes, and after all, the old sports saying is defense wins championships.
