Fantasy football picks: Week 9 TNF 49ers vs. Cardinals

Kyler Murray – This play is obviously not based off of the defensive match-up, he would be a pure GPP play for this game. Even on a one-game slate I can not recommend a quarterback that costs 15k against one of the best defenses in the league. Kyler is coming off two games where he did not score a touchdown and passed for a total of just over 300 yards. One thing that gives Murray an edge is his rushing ability, and in his last game, he only had two rushing attempts. I expect that number to reach double-digits in this game, as he will likely struggle through the air.

Tevin Coleman – I think I can speak for most of us when I say that Tevin’s performance since returning from injury has been surprising, to say the least. While he has not started, Coleman is leading the team in snaps at 48%. That may not seem like a very high number, but when you have four running backs splitting carries among them, that is a decent piece of the pie. Arizona ranks 26th in DVOA against the rush, and have been pretty bad against pass-catching running backs. We have not seen much of the passing game from Coleman, but we all know how good he can be when catching passes in open space. Tevin is getting more red-zone looks than I was expecting as well, which is a massive boost to his upside, and in a game where the 49ers should be scoring often, he should get a lot of opportunities.
