4. Los Angeles Chargers

The Los Angeles Chargers have had a wild ride over the course of this season. After a solid 2-2 start, the Chargers began to fade, dropping three straight before stopping the bleeding with a win in Chicago on Sunday.

That win came with a large assist from Bears’ head coach Matt Nagy, who incredibly decided to settle for a 41-yard field goal instead of pushing for a closer kick, leading to a miss from Eddy Pineiro. While all of the attention is going towards how the Bears blew this game, you cannot deny the fact that the Chargers did a good job to come back and win this game.

The Los Angeles defense did a good job against Mitchell Trubisky, limiting the Bears’ signal caller to a very ineffective 23 of 35 for 253 yards and an interception. While that effort was key to the victory, the Chargers will need to step up big time in order to contain their next opponent, the Green Bay Packers.

The Packers are coming off a very impressive victory against the Kansas City Chiefs on Sunday night where Aaron Rodgers and Aaron Jones lit up the Chiefs’ defense. Green Bay is 7-1, but they are coming off an emotional win in Kansas City and have tricky matchups with the Panthers and 49ers ahead, so its possible this could be a trap game for the Packers.

The Chargers need to take advantage of that possibility and beat Green Bay to get back to 4-5, which would put them right in the mix for a wild card in the lousy AFC. Dropping the game would put them at 3-6, which is not a death sentence, but it would be wise for the Chargers not to tempt fate and just win the game.
