Week 9 DFS fantasy football: Who to start and sit this Sunday
Wide Receivers to Start
T.Y. Hilton (IND) @ PIT
T.Y. Hilton pulled out his traditional Halloween costume last Sunday as he ghosted fantasy managers with a lousy two catches for 54 yards on six targets and no touchdowns. Granted this was against the Denver Broncos who, believe it or not, have a pretty good secondary this season. The Colts will now travel to the Steel City to take on the Pittsburgh Steelers this weekend. Pittsburgh has a suspect secondary as we are all aware, and Hilton has been notorious for pulling disappearing acts countless times throughout his career. If I’m not mistaken, Hilton should bounce back with a nice solid performance this time around.
JuJu Smith-Schuster (PIT) vs. IND
Let’s stick with this matchup for a little longer shall we? Prior to Monday’s game against the Miami Dolphins, there was much speculation swirling around the fantasy football community as to whether managers should trade away the top receiver in Pittsburgh. After the departure of Antonio Brown in the offseason, it was up to Smith-Schuster to lead the air-attack for the Steelers in 2019. Then a devastating elbow injury befell starting quarterback Ben Roethlisberger early in the year and JuJu’s fantasy value took a nosedive. While the Dolphins are a horrendous defense, Smith-Schuster’s fantasy production may see an uptick in the days moving forward. Pittsburgh’s strength of schedule gets easier in the second-half with teams like Cleveland (twice), Arizona and Cincinnati to name a few awaiting them on the horizon. Let’s see if Smith-Schuster can establish himself as truly legit with this game against the Colts.
Marvin Jones (DET) @ OAK
I know I got burned with this pick last week, but I’m going to roll the dice and take my chances one more time with this guy. We all know Marvin Jones is a volatile fantasy player and we don’t know which person we are going to get from week to week. Last week, rather than letting Jones build off his historic day against the Minnesota Vikings, the Lions only targeted him five times while Kenny Golladay soaked up all the attention on the other side of the field. Jones has a great matchup against the Raiders this week as they have surrendered the fifth-most receiving yards per game to receivers this year (186.0). It wouldn’t hurt to take a chance on either Lions’ receiver this week as they are playing against a really weak opponent this Sunday. Best case scenario, both Jones and Golladay have good performances and everyone is happy.
