Wide Receivers to Sit

Odell Beckham Jr. (CLE) @ DEN

It truly is deflating having to put one of the league’s most premier receivers on this list, but facts are facts. Beckham hasn’t lived up to the expectations placed on him during the offseason when the Giants dealt him over to Cleveland. It’s not entirely his fault, as quarterback Baker Mayfield has looked absolutely dreadful this season. Without a quarterback to throw him the ball how could any receiver, even the best like Beckham have any kind of success? He’s currently only averaging 12.7 fantasy points per game which is 36th among active receivers. Couple this with the fact that the Denver Broncos have a fairly solid secondary, and you’re looking at another game where Beckham should take a seat on the bench.

Marquise Brown (BAL) vs. NE

Hollywood Brown is a receiver I would highly recommend sitting this week as the Ravens will host the Patriots this week. Brown hasn’t had much success lately due to the Ravens’ run-first type of mentality this year. Brown has only cracked the top-10 in fantasy once this season, and that was back in Week 1 against Miami. Since then, he hasn’t had more than a top20 performance with Baltimore. Now that the Patriots are coming to town, I believe the Ravens are going to really stick to their true identity which is run the football to avoid any kind of mistakes Lamar Jackson might make through the air. As explosive as Brown can be, this is not the week to plug him in to your lineups.
