Tight Ends to Sit

Mark Andrews (BAL) vs. NE

While Mark Andrews has been a pleasant surprise for the Ravens this year, I don’t believe he will find much success in Week 9 against the Patriots. New England’s historic defense has not allowed opposing tight ends to be very efficient against them as they have allowed the second-fewest receiving yards. Only the San Francisco 49ers have allowed fewer this season. As I have mentioned earlier, the Ravens like to employ a run heavy type of offensive system where passing comes second, in order to limit Lamar Jackson’s mistakes. With that said, Baltimore may feel even more inclined to go this route especially against such a dangerous crew like New England coming up. I would avoid starting him this week if I were you.

Charles Clay (ARI) vs. SF

As successful as Arizona’s offense had been between Week’s 5 through 7, they came crashing back down to earth in Week 8 against the Saints. The Cardinals couldn’t move the ball down the field much, and were only able to put up nine total points for the entirety of the game. Clay is also listed as questionable (back) prior to Thursday’s clash with the San Francisco 49ers. Obviously, if he can’t suit up for Thursday he is of no use to anyone, but even he gets the green light, I don’t think it’s worth the risk of putting him in your lineup. The 49ers are the stingiest defense in terms of yards allowed (21.0/gm) and fantasy points allowed as well (2.57/gm). Don’t worry, there are other options out there in the sea.
