Cash running backs

Dalvin Cook: FanDuel $9000, DraftKings $9500

I’ll be honest I don’t love it on DraftKings because it’s just so much of your salary. They really made the week difficult by pricing up Cook and McCaffrey but they’re both always in play if you can fit them in. Always. I’ve been on the Dalvin Cook bandwagon since preseason and I feel so validated thus far. He gets a Kansas City team that has been bottom five against the run this year and they should remain so against Cook. I have to imagine the Vikings are going to be smart and try and run and keep the ball away from a banged-up Mahomes (assuming he plays). Matt Moore actually looked pretty solid in their last game so either way that offense is explosive and you want to play keep away.

Chris Carson: FanDuel $8200, DraftKings $7200

The Buccaneers defense isn’t actually that bad against the run but time and time again we’ve seen that opportunity is everything. Carson is getting a boatload of opportunity. People thought perhaps last week he would see less with Penny being healthy again but that wasn’t really the case. In the last five games, he’s averaged solidly over 20 carries a game along with a handful of targets each game. What’s more shocking is he’s only had three touchdowns over those last five high-volume games. I’m expecting a bit of positive regression here in the touchdown department and for his volume to remain at least the same if not go up some.

Aaron Jones: FanDuel $7700, DraftKings $7000

Holy cow is this guy good. The only reason this guy is priced under $8500 on both sites every week is because of the potential for Williams, his backfield running mate, to step in and take some touches. Even with doing that on occasion, he still has been crushing it and just loves getting into the end zone. It’s really nice to see him involved in the passing game as well and not just running simple dump off screen passes. The Chargers have been pretty terrible against running backs and while Rodgers is getting Adams back this week (finally!) I think they’ll stick with their balance play-calling and let Jones tear up the Chargers. The opportunity and ceiling he carries at his price is very attractive but it may not be a slam dunk for cash games. Let’s check out a few others.
