Friends in domination

Talk about a Halloween treat! NXT UK, without any Johnny Saint tweet to mention the match would actually happen, runs Rhea Ripley and Piper Niven teaming up to take on Jinny and Jazzy Gabert. God bless, us everyone. That’s this holiday, right? No? How’s this: Rhea Ripley and Piper Niven, an alliance forged IN HELL! Nailed it? Nice.

We thought this Ripley-Niven feud would end with a violent slugfest, one of them finally standing tall as the undisputed most dominant woman in NXT UK. The reality ended up being that they’re actually both the most dominant woman in NXT UK. Constant squabbling and battering lead to mutual respect. Dare we even say, lead to friendship?

The match ends with both Jinny and Jazzy being sent to the outside, Ripley looking around and shrugging like a top babyface before flipping over the ropes onto both of them, and Niven hitting a Michinoku Driver on Jazzy for the pinfall.

Afterwards, it seems like Ripley might be headed stateside for good as she gives Niven respect and motions for the crowd to cheer for her. She leaves her former adversary alone in the ring to soak up the adulation. And if you had any doubts that Piper Niven has ascended to the status of top face in the NXT UK women’s division, she’s getting an “Up Close” interview next week. Now if only she could also somehow end up on Ripley’s War Games team …
