2020 NFL mock draft: Raiders get Ceedee Lamb with Bears pick
By Brad Weiss
The New England Patriots were embarrassed on the national stage in Week 9, as they went into Baltimore and were outplayed by a very strong Ravens team. The Patriots kept it close early on, but in the end, they had no answer for Lamar Jackson, Baltimore’s outstanding dual-threat quarterback.
Throughout the 2019 season, the Patriots defense has been the class of the league, and they should get back on track once they come off the bye week in two weeks. The truth is, they are once again one of the better teams in the league, and could be playing for a seventh Super Bowl ring for Tom Brady before all is said and done this season.
When it comes time for them to pick in 2020, it will be very late in round one, but they could still get an elite defensive player. Dylan Moses is coming off a torn ACL, and there will be a lot of talk surrounding that next April, but when all is said and done, he is going to be a stellar player in the NFL, and the Pats would be a perfect landing spot.
Jimmy Garoppolo has his San Francisco 49ers cruising right now, and they enter Week 10 of the NFL season as the only undefeated team remaining. On Thursday night, the 49ers were able to travel to Arizona and beat their division rival, thanks to strong play once again by Jimmy G, and the 49ers defense.
When it comes time for the 49ers to draft next April, they could be picking close to the bottom of the first round, and they should look to add a wide receiver to the mix. Tylan Wallace from Oklahoma State has that big play ability that this offense needs at the position, and it would be wise to give Garoppolo another strong weapon in the passing game.
It remains to be seen whether or not the 49ers can continue this incredible run to start the season, but one thing is for sure, they have the talent on both sides of the ball to make a deep run through the NFC playoffs. If the 49ers do find themselves in the Super Bowl against the New England Patriots, it will be a matchup between former teammates Garoppolo and Tom Brady.
