Xavi

Xavi Hernandez has no real track record as a manager, as he’s only just started coaching Al Sadd – the club he played for from 2015 to 2019 – this season to gain experience.

As Xavi builds his coaching chops, it seems like he’s destined to take over Barcelona, the only club he knew in Europe, the club where he is definition of a legend, having spent 1998 to 2015 winning trophies in the Camp Nou midfield.

None other than Guardiola recently told Catalunya Radio that, “Sooner or later, [Xavi] will manage Barcelona. … It would excite me to see him manage Barcelona.”

Despite his short managerial resume, there is something special about having a club legend and leader take over on the touch-line, so Xavi could be a fan-pleasing hire.

Sometimes gambles pay off, and if Xavi’s on-field intelligence is any indication of his future quality as a manager, then perhaps he could be a worthy risk.
